Did Columbus Really Discover America?

Then who were these Natives that greeted
Columbus when he arrived?

On this Columbus Day (which some are trying to change) we celebrate the landing of Columbus in America.  Columbus discovered America… or did he?  There were “natives” already here in this land that greeted him upon his arrival!  Who were these native people and where did they come from?

Those natives were actually descendants of a highly intelligent people with an ancient Hebrew language called Nephites and Lamanites that dwelt in the Heartland of North America and came to this “promised land” from Jerusalem about 600 B.C..

They were descendants of Lehi and Sariah who left Jerusalem about 600 B.C.  and under inspired direction from above built ships in order to travel to the ‘promised land’ after Lehi had a dream where he was told that Jerusalem was soon to be destroyed.  They brought with them The Plates of Laban which contained the five books of The Old Testamernt in order to maintain their language and keep God’s laws.  They found  records of another people from the north called the Jaredites who came here after the destruction of The Tower of Babel and the confounding of languages.  Their records plus Lehi’s family’s history was recorded on gold plates by various prophets and compiled by Mormon and abridged by Moroni before he died.  These records were deposited in the Hill Cumorah in upper State New York where Joseph Smith was shown their location by an angel who told him he was to  translate them  into a book called, The Book of Mormon; Mormon being a great prophet and leader of these people.

This book also records the prophecies of Jesus Christ who was to be born in Bethlehem with the same signs and wonders witnessed only now from the land of North America.  The birth and the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ were foretold to these people also witnessed the 3 days of darkness when Jesus was Crucified, but from the ‘new world’ of North America.  33 years later, which they were foretold, they witnessed an appearance of Jesus Christ to them where Jesus Christ came and  showed them His nail scarred hands and feet and proclaimed to them that “they were the other sheep” he spoke of in the Bible, “that He was also their Savior and Redeemer.”

“And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold:
them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice;
and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”  

John 10:16

Joseph Smith was a young man when God and Jesus Christ appeared to him in a sacred grove of trees and told Joseph that he was chosen to help restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth once again as the Church and it’s authority had been lost by the killing of the Apostles.

It has been restored and is called, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
